چکیده
Received September 17, 2007. Accepted after revision January 8, 2008. of the isotropic acquisition properties of the method. The high-resolution of the method is ideal for assessing bone structures and their abnormalities. Currently, a 16-channel multislice CT equipment is utilized for 0.75 mm collimation volume acquisitions, with open and closed mouth views. Later, images are analyzed on the axial, coronal and sagittal planes, and the volume rendering technique is utilized for 3D images reconstruction. MRI is currently the method of choice for evaluating this joint, because of its excellent capability to demonstrate the TMJ anatomy, particularly when a specific surface coil is employed. High contrast resolution images demonstrate soft tissues and can be obtained with the mouth closed or at different degrees of mouth opening, therefore providing functional data. In the author’s institution, the protocol described on Table 1 is utilized, and the utilization of Garcia MM, Machado KFS, Mascarenhas MH. Objective(s): Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease with a wide range of clinical manifestations. Cognitive dysfunction is one of the manifestations that could present prior to the emergence of any other neuropsychiatric involvements in SLE. Cognitive dysfunction is a subtle condition occurring with ahigh frequency. However, there is no data on the correlation of cognitive...
متن کاملBimodal magnetic resonance imaging-computed tomography nanoprobes: A Review
Bimodal imaging combines two imaging modalities in order to benefit from their advantages and compensate the limitations of each modality. This technique could accurately detect diseases for diagnostic purposes. Nanoparticles simultaneously offer diagnostic data via various imaging modalities owing to their unique properties. Moreover, bimodal nanoprobes could be incorporated into theranostic s...

Introduction: Nowadays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in combination with computed-tomography (CT) is increasingly being used in radiation therapy planning. MR and CT images are applied to determine the target volume and calculate dose distribution, respectively. Since the use of these two imaging modalities causes registration uncertainty and increases department w...

Aim: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate imaging artifacts induced by Titanium, Zirconium, Titanium-Zirconium abutments in CT, MRI and CBCT imaging modalities. Methods: A 4×8mm titanium fixture was inserted in a dry human mandible. Titanium, Zirconium and Titanium–Zirconium abutments measuring 10.5 mm in height are located on the fixture, one by one. Each abutment was scan...
